A-Level Art

Course Introduction:

Art and design is a way of seeing things and making sense of the world around you. Art helps you develop creative skills and the ability to visualise new ideas and improve visual literacy which can be useful in many career areas such as arts, crafts and design, broadcast media and performing arts, journalism and publishing. Gaining an ability to decipher and exploit images can help to make you stand out from the competition in the multi-media workspaces of an increasingly visual world.

What skills will I develop?

AO1 and AO2 skills –

Developing and refining research skills enabling a deeper knowledge of themes and practitioners.

Development of experimental skills across a varied range of new materials and techniques giving you opportunities to explore new ways of working.

AO3 and AO4 skills –

Refining skills in chosen materials and techniques to enhance skills. Develop photography skills and photo editing skills.

Produce high quality final pieces on large scales showing a strong personal journey with high quality refined skills.
