Julia Nicholls

Vice Principal

Miss Nicholls began her teaching career training and qualifying in Keighley, Bradford before moving to teach Religious Education in Doncaster.  She was then promoted to Curriculum leader and worked collaboratively across the Yorkshire and Humber region.  Miss Nicholls went on to lead a large Social Sciences Department and worked as a GCSE examiner for AQA.  Alongside this, she worked with Leeds University with the selection and training of student teachers.  She has also led training for other Curriculum leaders within the local authority.

Miss Nicholls went on to lead whole school SMSC, after which she was appointed Assistant Principal and the lead for whole school literacy. Here she developed nurture groups to support those with poor literacy and those needing support with their behaviour.  This then led to Miss Nicholls being appointed Assistant Principal for Behaviour/Inclusion and SENCO. Whilst in this role she also worked with the local authority on their Inclusion panel.  In October 2022 Miss Nicholls left Doncaster to return to Bradford as Vice Principal for Behaviour and Inclusion at Hanson Academy.
